Joshua was mighty warrior, but he lost the first battle at Ai because one of the men with him broke the Lords commandment concerning Jericho. He was betrayed, and it was not even Joshuas fault, but still he felt guilty about it. As he lay on his face, crying out to the Lord in pain, hurt, depression, defeated, he got an answer.

The Lord had a solution: Get up! Deal with the past, and lets go. He was not to lay there a moment longer, as he was being slowly swallowed in self pity, anxiety, and fear of what might happen because of this defeat. Joshua got up, dealt with it, and was never defeated again.

If you have something in your past, even though it was not your fault, that is haunting you today, do what Joshua did: lay it before the Lord and pray until you get your answer. The strength, wisdom and encouragement to deal with it will come. The Lord can set you free from your past and help you make things right today. Dont give up. Dont lay there. Get up!
